G2 and G3 had a party!!

G2 and G3 are about to turn 4 (holy cow!! not possible!!) and we had a little party for them Saturday. I told them they could each invite one friend from school and then they had two other little friends (sisters) from church over too. The one friend from G3's class has a brother G1's age and we invited him over as well.
There is a place in town (Bright Futures) where we can check out toys and other things for free for up to 3 weeks at a time. I went and got some pom-poms, costumes and a couple little parachutes to have for the party.
G2 wanted a Spider-man party and G3 wanted a Cinderella party. I got a couple decorations that were Spider-man/Cinderella specific but otherwise the party didn't really have a theme. They each wanted piñatas that went along with the themes they wanted, but I wasn't about to spend $40 just on piñatas. So we went to Target and got a generic burro piñata.
Here are the cupcakes and cake. I did three flavors; chocolate, strawberry and white. G3 wanted blue and white frosting because Cinderella's dress is blue and G2 wanted red and white frosting because Spider-man wears red. The cake is three layers using the three flavors of cake. I'm by no means a cake decorator but I'm pleased with how they all turned out.
G2's cupcakes had Spider-man toothpicks in them.
G3's cupcakes had tiara toothpicks in them.

I wanted to get a picture of the two birthday girls and all the Gs wanted to be involved. G2 is in the purple, G3 is in the pink. They picked the dresses out at the store.
They are looking so grown up!!

This next picture of G4 I think I'm going to print out an 8x10 of to hang on the wall with the Gs school pictures.

G1 wore 3 shirts all day! Strange boy. He told me to take a picture of his hair also. I told him no.
Balloon wreath I made for the door.
Streamers in the dining room.
Cinderella banner.
Spider-man banner.
Present table and piñata.
Cake table.
Both tables.
Dressing up in costumes.

Getting ready to sing "Happy Birthday"
Since it is an even numbered year we sang to G3 first.
Make a wish and blow out your candles.
She's like her momma and doesn't really like attention on her.
I'm not sure why G2 looks so worried...
Unlike her twin and momma she loves attention.

Blowing out candles.
Piñata time. First blindfolded. (All the kids took a turn but I'm only posting the Gs.)

When it didn't break after all the kids they took turns without the blindfold.
It still didn't break.
While we were doing the piñata we had surprise guests show up. The 2 Marcias and Jacob!!
So Uncle Jacob got to have a go at it.

It still didn't break all the way open (although a couple legs did go flying) so it got torn apart.

Opening presents. G2 didn't face the camera a whole lot.

Back in July G2 picked out some walkie talkies while we were out shopping. She didn't know it but I got them while we were there. She was so excited when she opened them up.
It is blurry (she was moving, too excited) but you can see the joy on her face.
Me and the Marcias.

G4 tells me (a lot) that (c) Marcia is her baby cousin. She loves that little baby!
The girls got make up kits for their birthday. Here is G3 mostly asleep after putting some make up on.
The next morning. With crazy hair and after doing their make up.

The girls had such a wonderful time at their party and got lots of great stuff.

  3. What a great party! Happy 4th birthday to Geneva and Gretchen! I think it's awesome that G2 wanted Spiderman :) Our party this year -- their first one with friends -- is a ninja/ballerina party. Should be fun, something for everyone, right? ;) They are beautiful girls, and a beautiful bunch of kids. I love the new header! Cute photo!
