G4 is 6 months (as of yesterday)!!

How did that happen?!?!?! She is doing amazing. We have her 6 month check-up this coming Tuesday.

She had bananas yesterday and LOVED them. I guess she is related to her siblings. :-P

I still have yet to upload pictures to the computer from the camera. I haven't done that since before the 4th of this month. I haven't had the chance to take enough time to do all I need to do for that. So sorry I don't have any recent pictures up yet. But here is one of Matt and G4 from the day she was born. Doesn't he look like such a proud Daddy? (It was middle of the night and we had been taking turns trying to make her happy. So he was pretty exhausted--in case you couldn't tell. That has been probably the only hard night we have had with her.)

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Duct tape no longer works

on G2 and G3 with keeping their diapers on. So now what do we try? We plan on potty training G1, G2 and G3 completely once the downstairs bathroom is usable. But what do we do until then? We can't keep having these poopy messes on the carpet. Any thoughts anyone?

Happy birthday Grammy!

Today is Mom's birthday. Last night we had "cake" (brownies) for her birthday and sang to her. I think the Gs enjoyed that. G1 helped her blow out the candles. I might post pictures later.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA!! WE LOVE YOU!

Some say I'm a slacker...

and they are probably right. Nah, I'm just kidding. I just haven't had the time or energy to post anything new lately. I will not be adding any of the millions of pictures that I have today because I don't have the time or energy. But I will try to give a quick update on all of us.

Matt:
He has been spending most of his *free* (no such thing!) time working on the downstairs bathroom. He had the interview the other day for the apprenticeship. Hopefully that will get started before too long. He seems to be doing well; at least no major complaining coming from him lately.

Ronda:
I have been really struggling with a certain G-boy (but I won't name any names :-P ). In my *free* time I have been working on G2 and G3's birthday invites and stuff for their party. I think I'm doing pretty well also.

G1:
He's a little monster. Some days we aren't sure what to do with him. Matt and I have joked (or was it joking?) that if there was a toddler boot-camp we would totally send G1.
Other days he is such an angel. He repeats EVERYTHING now.
OH and the questioning. I have dreaded the day when my children would start this. "Why Mommy?" "Why, why, why?" He starts most questions with "Can I...?" and when I answer (even when I say yes), "Why Mommy?" ARGH! I know he is just learning. But when I hear it over and over and over and over and over and over (do you get the point?) it gets a bit irritating. I know I should just be grateful that he can speak so well (and don't get me wrong I am very grateful that he is so healthy and intelligent) but I don't have patience and I have many short fuses, so things get to me quickly.
The other night he said our night-time *family* (minus Daddy because he works at night) prayer all by himself. He needed no prompting from me. It made me tear up. My baby boy is getting so big.
He is up to 30.5 pounds!

G2:
She will be 2 years old in 1 month from today. She is learning so much. The other day she told Grammy that Poppy is a boy and that she (G2) is a girl. I didn't know she knew that. She is my timid child. To do new things (and sometimes not new things) she wants me (or another adult) right there to help her and watch over her. She definitely has a mind of her own. Her new word is "No!" I can't tell you how many times I hear that from her in a day. But I would much rather her tell me no than to listen to her whine at me.
She is up to 23 pounds!

G3:
She will also be 2 years old in 1 month from today. She is talking so much and so clearly now. She used to be my timid child but since she has become so accident prone she has become very brave. She is always trying new things (and normally mastering them). She is my little helper. She loves to unload the dishwasher with/for me. She also loves to help me cook (but I'm pretty sure that's just because I let her snack on the food with me as we cook).
Yesterday only 1 of the girls' princess shirts was clean (the 2nd was in the dryer). Both girls wanted to wear it (oh, you should hear these girls say princess it's so cute!). Well, G2 grabbed it out of my hand and was not going to give it up. So I said to G3 "Sissy wants to wear that shirt today. The other princess shirt is in the dryer. Is it okay if Sissy wears that one today and and you can wear the other when it is out of the dryer?" She looked at me as if contemplating that, shook her head yes and said "Uh-huh." And she was fine. After I put her shirt on her she got down, went up to G2, pointed to the shirt and said "Princess" and tried to give G2 a hug. It was so cute. I KNOW I could not have done that with G2. We would have had a MAJOR meltdown on our hands.
G2 and G3 both call each other "Gretchyn" if they use a name. G3 will point to G2 if I ask who Geneva is. But at the same time will say Gretchyn. I think it's funny.
She is also up to 23 pounds!

G4:
She is my little chunky monkey (which happens to be my favorite Ben & Jerry's ice cream). She can now sit by herself, roll in both directions, blow raspberries, grab whatever she wants (and man is she fast), and she has scooted on her belly forward and backward a couple times. She is learning how to master the walker.
She loves to play "Getcha" (is that what you would call it, Mom?) with her brother and sisters. This morning I was playing with G2 and G3; G4 yelled at because she wanted to play too. What is this game you ask? It is where we run around the house saying "I'm gonna get you (or getcha)." And then you catch them and I tickle them when it is just me. When G4 is playing she just grabs them (I of course carry her). All the Gs think this is a great game and laugh hysterically when we play.
G4 is getting on some sort of a schedule. Feedings are still whenever she or I or both think it's time. She has started laying down for a nap when her siblings do. She has also started wanting to go to sleep for most of the night after I lay her siblings down for bed. It's been pretty nice. She still sleeps with Matt & I. We don't have a mattress for her crib yet but I'm thinking about putting a play pen in our room to gradually move her out of our bed. I'm not sure though. She still wakes a couple times at night to eat and it is much easier on me if I don't have to really wake up to feed her. I don't know...

We are all pretty healthy and happy. Things are going well. Life is good right now.

That was much longer than I had expected it to be.
I will try to post pictures and a bathroom update soon.
