The sweetest thing....

I had the perfect photo op. and too bad I had the camera nowhere near me. :-(

I was in the kitchen putting groceries in the fridge when I look over at the gate. The girls were standing there watching me. G2 looked over at G3. G3 leaned over and gave G2 a big kiss. I have never seen them kiss each other without someone prompting them. It was just so sweet and melted my heart. They really do love each other! (I think I was beginning to wonder with as much as they have been fighting lately!)

More exciting!

G1 got to feel the baby kick this morning!! He was so excited. He's been putting his hand on my belly everyday and saying "Baby kick!!" It's so cute!

Here is a goofy picture of me from Wednesday evening--21 weeks along.
Here is how I look from the front.

2 1/2 year check up

G1 had a well-child check-up this morning. He is weighing in at 26.9 lbs and is 2' 10.75" tall. He's not as tall as I had expected him to be at this age-but that's okay. He did however weigh more than I was expecting and it was a wonderful surprise. It's great to finally see him gaining weight.
We had a good day-just me and him. It seems so strange to go anywhere with only child--especially when we have an hour drive to get there and an hour back.

This was taken in the rear view mirror. Shhhh-don't tell Matt, it drives him nuts when I pay attention to the kids instead of the road.

This is one I took with the camera pointing at him but I was using the rearview mirror to make sure he was actually in the shot.

This one I took at a stop sign--such a great smile!

Goofy boy was hiding under this basket for a little while.

Since today was all about G1 the girls don't get there picture on here right now. But I have posted pictures of them without him so I guess it evens out. :-)

100th post

This is my 100th entry in the blogging world. For this momentous occasion I wanted to list 100 milestones since I became a parent. But that was too hard. Then I thought I would try to list the Top 10 things since becoming a parent. That was really hard too. So, what I have is 10 of the biggest things since July 9, 2005; when I became a parent. There are many more but these are the things I could not not list......I may add the pictures that go with each thing later-I'm just too lazy to look for them right now.
  1. Gavyn's birth--July 9, 2005-9:21 AM
  2. The first time I got to see and hold Gavyn--24 hours old
  3. Matt and I got married--October 1, 2005
  4. Finding out we were to have twin girls
  5. Geneva's birth--December 15, 2006-7:02 PM
  6. The first time I got to hold Geneva--2 days old
  7. Gretchyn's birth--December 15, 2006-7:02 PM (yes, I know that G2 and G3 were born at the same time, but each girl deserves her own listing)
  8. The first time I got to "meet" and hold Gretchyn--4 days old
  9. Finding out G4 is on the way
  10. Buying our first house

Unwanted guest

Last night we had a very unwelcomed guest in the house. Thank goodness it was Matt to find it and not me. What was it you ask? It was a BAT! In my kitchen! I am very glad that I was being lazy and putting off doing the dishes until this morning-so then I didn't have to see the stinking thing fly into the kitchen. Bats scare me.
Matt put on gloves and used a garbage bag to grab it. He then threw it out the door. I was very creeped out!!

3Gs sleeping in 1 bed

This isn't the best picture-G1 had just fallen asleep so I took the picture quick to make sure I didn't wake him. For nap time today he told me he wanted to sleep with his sisters-so that he did. I just think it is so sweet when he wants to be near them-and is being nice. It's been kind of fun all 5 of us sleeping in 1 room--albeit stressful too. Every morning when the kids wake up-without letting Matt and I know they are awake-G1 climbs into the crib with the girls and they all play together for awhile. Some mornings it has gotten out of control, but most of the time they play in there for quite a while-letting Matt and I sleep in. Such sweet kids! :-)

Exciting!

Matt felt the baby kick this morning. Such a great milestone! G1 tried to feel the baby but instead of just having his hand on my belly he wanted to massage and push to really feel the baby. It didn't work.

20 weeks!

We are 20 weeks pregnant today. Here's how I looked this morning.

Oh, and each girl got the same tooth today-so G2 is up to 6 teeth and G3 is up to 5 teeth. I've got more pictures to post and what not but I will have to do that later.

I know you all are curious what the kids' room colors look like. So, here they are.
This is G1's room. I was just testing it out to see if I would need to use primer on the walls first. I guess I will see tomorrow. While the old color was okay-it's not what I wanted for a 2-year old boy's room. I think the yellow and orange stars are going to look good on this color when we are finished.
This is the girls' room. I was just testing the main color over the primer to see how it would look in there. While the blue may be fine for some people-I do not like blue walls at all. I'm really excited to get the girls' room completely painted. We are going to paint pink and purple flowers on the walls too.

How rude!

We went to Target this morning to get me a new pair of maternity jeans. When we were back at the fitting rooms I had Matt run and get me a different size than what I had grabbed. When he brought them back to me the fitting room attendant says to me in the most disgusted and rude tone "You're having another one!" I just grinned real big and said "Yup!" What I wanted to say was "I'm not on welfare and my children are well taken care of and loved, what business is it of yours?!?!" Why do people have such a problem with other people having "lots" of children? I used the " " around lots because I know that 4 children is not a lot but to the rest of the world it is. No one else has to take care of them or pay for them so why do they have such a problem with it? UGH! Anyway, that is my rant for the day.

Also, we got the main paint color G1's bedroom today. He is very excited about it and picked it out himself. It is a green/blue that has the word "rainforest" in the name of it. He will have stars painted on the walls also (he chose that too). When he gets moved into his new room he will have an upgrade from his toddler bed to a big boy bed (twin sized). The frame for that is red. He will have a very colorful room and seems to be very excited about it.

Hmmmm...

So, I think Marcia, Fiona and Ashley are the only ones that read my blog. Hmmmm.... But that's not why I'm posting. lol To all of you that I didn't name-please please please feel free to comment. It's so nice to read what others think of what I have to say (if you can make sense of it) or what others think of the most beautiful children on the face of the earth (yes I mean mine-who else would I be talking about--Noah, Nuala and Bran are all gorgeous too-and yes I'm only listing them because they are the only ones whose parents comment) :-)

I wanted to point out a link that I have on here. It is up on the left hand side right above our family picture. If you click on it- it will take you to a "game" where you can put in your guesses about our new baby. You can choose if you think it will be a boy or girl (I know we've had the u/s that said girl-but that could be totally wrong still) what the date and time of birth will be, and what the length and weight will be. And after the baby is born I will put in the right answers and we will see who our winner is. What do you win, you ask? Well, let me tell you..... You win.....{{{drum roll}}} the satisfaction of knowing that you guessed the most correctly about our baby. That's right you win nothing but satisfaction. But hey, it's fun. So, give it a try. Oh, and don't let Rick try to tell you that you will win the right to name the baby-because that just ain't true. :-) Sorry Rick!

"Fixing the wall"

Today G1 helped with "fixing the wall" (that's what he kept saying) in Matt and I's bedroom. He had a great time and only suffered minor injuries...he tripped and scraped right by his eyebrow with his putty knife. The girls however did not enjoy themselves like he did. The were stuck in the other room-and were not happy about it at all. Slowly we are making progress.

This was from a couple days ago. G1 left his cereal bowl sitting on the picnic table and sisters got ahold of it. However G3 thought she needed to be naked to eat the cereal.

Hooray Geneva!!

G2 took a couple steps in between Matt and I today. She only did it a few times, but she did it! She looked so proud of herself too. Matt and I just cheered and clapped for her. Before too long she will be running all over the place with G1.

Progress

I don't remember where I put my camera so I don't have pictures to share right now. But we have made some progress on the upstairs bathroom. Matt got a lot more tiles off the walls (after I had gotten quite a bit done). Him and Dean got the tub, toilet, and sink out of there. I'm sure they did more-I'm just not sure what. Mom got some mudding done in the hallway.
Today I got a couple spots in the girls' bedroom painted (with primer). I've got a lot more to do before I can paint it the color it will be-but it's a start. Hopefully I will be getting the carpet up in there this week-that will make it so much easier to clean and paint the trim. G1 has been trying to help with every project. He is so excited about our "New house". He came in and sat beside me the other night and said to me "I love our new house." When I acknowledged him and told him that I'm glad he loves our new house, he got up and walked away. It was just so cute how he did that.
It's been pretty tough living here right now. We don't have a way to bathe here so we have to go to my mom's house in order to do so-thank goodness she lives so close. Plus we are all 5 sleeping in the den. That has made it very challenging to put G1 down for a nap. Which then in turn makes it very hard to get the things done that I need to do. It is so difficult to do some of this stuff with a little one under my feet at all times.
So far I still love our new house--except our kitchen sink! I can't wait to redo it in a few years. That's right it will probably be a few years (if not longer) before I can redo the kitchen. It doesn't really need to be redone-it's a functioning kitchen as is-it just makes me mad. The hot water comes out as a trickle so it takes about a year to fill up the sink to wash dishes, and then once I do get the sink filled up by the time I start washing the dishes it has started draining. ARGH!
Anyway, that is my brief update on the house. I will hopefully get all of my thoughts together and really give an update on the children soon.

About a million pictures from the party

Okay, so I exaggerated a little-but I am so close it's scary! It was so hard narrowing it down to just this many-so you'll have to deal with them. :-)
