First Day of School 8-5-15

School started on August 5th for The Gs here in Arizona. It was so strange starting so early but we quickly got in to the new routine. The school days are longer here than they were in Illinois, but that doesn't seem to phase The Gs much. The other big difference is that they only go to school Monday thru Thursday. Every Friday off! We all love it!

Fun fact, when my family moved from southern Texas to Iowa it was the summer before I started second grade. :)

Fifth grade is proving to be a difficult year. I now understand the premise behind the game show "Are You Snarter Than a Fifth Grader?" We live it everyday!! 

G1 gets to be in band this year and chose to play the trumpet. He had his first concert a couple weeks ago (that post coming at some point). 

G2 and G3 had a Christmas play on their birthday. That post will be coming at some point as well. 

G4 had a Thanksgiving play, again that post will be coming. 

We love all the teachers they have this year. We really have adjusted well to our new town and school. 

G2 and G3 turned 9 (Birthday Party Edition)

It's going to be easiest to start posting about life from now forward, instead of trying to go back and work my way forward. As I can I will do some back posts to catch up on life. 

To start I will post about the girls' birthday a couple weeks ago. 

It was really emotional for me to be getting ready for a birthday party know that all of our "normal" people would not be at it. But we pressed forward. We've made great friends here and their kids and The Gs get along fabulously. The girls have also made friends at school. I let each of the girls invite 2 friends from school and we invited our family friends, and the girl right next door. 

Our theme was going to be The Voice but it became just a karaoke party. 

We had the party the Friday before their birthday, since their birthday was on a Friday.

The G Girls Christmas Play

The girls decided to write and perform a play for us on Christmas day.  Each girl had a part in writing it, and each one wrote one of the songs.  They had G1 play their music for them.  I hope you enjoy it. :)
