G2 belt promotion

G2 is now a blue-stripe belt in Kuk Sool Won. She was so excited and has been working hard (well, most of the time anyway) to get promoted. Here are the pictures and video from promotion night.
Taking off her yellow-stripe belt.
Putting on blue-stripe belt.

With Master Ed, Ashley, Randy (her instructor and she loves him to pieces!) and Tyler.
All the tots that got promoted that night with Randy and Ashley.

Sorry it took me so long to get this on here Mom!

Matt belt promotion

Matt just received (a couple weeks ago) his red belt in Kuk Sool Won. He has been working hard and practices all the time. I am very proud of him and I know he is proud of himself (although he is extremely hard on himself too).
This first picture is them taking his blue belt off of him.
Putting his red belt on.
Him with Tyler, Master Ed, and Randy (Ashley was ill and not able to be there that night).
The belt levels in Kuk Sool Won are:
White
Yellow
Blue
Red
Brown
Brown-Black
Black (with multiple degrees)

G3

Sometimes I feel like G4 gets spotlighted a lot more than all the other Gs on this blog. I will try harder to have the others be focused as well. Here is a video of G3 "reading" one of her little books that she brought home from school.

I love Pinterest

Everyone has heard of http://pinterest.com/ If you're on there, you are probably "addicted" to it, like I am. I have so many "pins" on there. I am working on doing a lot of the things I have found on there.
Last week I made a couple t-shirt scarves, and I have plans to make many more. My girls LOVE them. They are a "no-sew" project (however one I will be sewing a little, it calls for fabric glue but I don't keep that around). Here are the two I have made so far.
G3 (pink) is wearing the one that I will be doing a little sewing on. Here is a link to a video that shows you how to do that one, as well as a couple others. I watched that video and then adapted it to work for me. Since I was making it with my girls in mind I used a dessert size plate rather than a bigger plate. I also used the remainder of the t-shirts from doing the other one.
G2 (purple) is wearing the first one I made. I had some help from some friends on that one. We were together at Creative Escapes and one friend that was there had made one already so she was able to show me what I was doing. Here is a link to a tutorial on how to make that one.
Neither scarf takes very long to make. The ringlet one takes more time than the first one but still super easy, super fast, and super cute. G1 was asking me when I was going to make him a scarf too. So, if you come across a boy scarf that would be easy to make let me know!
Here is breakfast from this morning. (Ignore the fact that my pan is stained and I haven't taken the time to fix that!)
For these semi-homemade doughnuts (being homemade in the fact that I made them at home) I used refrigerator biscuits and cut out the centers using a little cookie cutter. I heated oil (about 1/2 inch) while cutting out the centers. Then I dropped the doughnuts in the hot oil.
When the first side was browned (maybe 30 seconds, but probably less time) I flipped them over.
After all the doughnuts were cooked I cooked the "holes."
The first batch I made I dipped in melted butter and then cinnamon-sugar. The second batch I made I just dipped in the cinnamon-sugar, both ways were good. The second batch of doughnuts I used my Noah's Ark cookie cutters. The Gs loved them and kept asking for more.

January Park Day

Although winter technically began a couple weeks ago, we are still waiting for winter weather to appear (I am not upset by this in the slightest!). Yesterday (January 5) it was close to 60 degrees and we met friends at the park to play. I didn't get any *spectacular* pictures but I did remember to take some pictures; be happy with that.
