11 months

Photo taken at 7:59 AM 4-28-09 = exactly 11 months old

Today G4 is 11 months old. The time is just flying so fast. Every day she seems so much more amazing to me.
In the picture above she is not asleep. She got told "No" because she was trying to play with the camera, so she was pouting - notice the lip?
She still is not walking, although I'm pretty sure she could. She's just like G1 was. She can do it, just won't (if she knows we are watching!).
G4 has 2 teeth and does not appear to be working on anymore.
She loves to play with her siblings. When Daddy walks in the door he must focus all attention on her or she gets very angry.
She throws temper tantrums like G3 did (still does sometimes): throws herself to the floor and yells.
Words she says (and says in the correct context): Mom, Dad, Hi, Uh-oh, Bite
Shakes her head yes and no. Claps and waves. Points to what she wants. Signs done/finished--when I say done she thinks nursing so I have to say finished when we are at the table for meals. Also signs milk sometimes when she wants to nurse but normally just comes up and sticks her hand down my shirt.
G4 has slept 6 hours straight in her bed 2 nights in a row! Amazing! She has a big Mickey Mouse that she cuddles with in her bed. That has really seemed to help.
We have taken her out of her infant car seat. She is still rear facing but in a "big kid" car seat. She seems to like it so much better, kind of. For those of you that don't know--this kid HATES car seats, always has.
All the pictures were taken with my phone so the quality isn't the best. The camera's batteries haven't been holding a charge very well--we need to get new batteries.
The last picture is a bit blurry, the one that wasn't blurry she had her eyes closed in though.

30 days until G4 is 1 and 72 days until G1 is 4. Crazy!!

Blog Privacy

I have decided that I am going to make this blog private. I have contemplated doing this for a while. I know I have many loyal readers and I want you to know that you are still welcome to keep reading and check in on us. All I need is for you to Email me! (If you right click on that link it will let you copy my email address. I'm sure if you just click on it it will do something too, just not sure what!) I need to know your email address (and if I don't have your email address already I may need to know who you are).

I will be making the change in just over a week, roughly May 3rd.

Thanks for being understanding.

St Louis Zoo trip

We went to another zoo yesterday. But I figured that before I post pictures from there I should probably post the pictures from our trip to the St Louis Zoo. I got the camera back on the Monday after going down. Which was amazing because I didn't figure I would get it until later in the week. I just haven't had (or taken) the time to do a post about that trip until now.

*Funny note: I didn't realize until just going through these pictures but G2 and G3 were wearing the same shirts to both zoos (just opposite--you will see later).

So here is our fun day at the zoo on March 26, 2009:

Family picture

G3 wanted in with him. And then he started walking towards where we were and she got even more excited.

G4 was being very goofy and would make a face or look away every time Daddy tried to take her picture.

I'm so glad he loves her.

I'm not sure what's going on. G3 is on the left.

I don't remember what she was looking at but she was excited.

I told Matt that this looks like one of our children. He didn't agree. I think I will name him Griff.

Mesmerized

G1 named him Tracy

Him too. Cool antlers huh?

Another family picture

Walking with Grammy
(we are so lucky that we get to take her with us on so many adventures!)

I wish I could get that comfortable

Grammy and the 3 older Gs still looking at the Sun Bear ^

G3 wanted to pet the penguins

The Gs growled at the anteater when he started walking towards us.
Then it turned and walked away.
It made everyone around laugh.

There was a tunnel the kids could crawl through.

While we were standing there watching the elephants I overheard a young girl say to her father,
"Daddy, that elephant just walked through his poop!"
It made me laugh.

Checking stuff out from the train

Isn't she pretty?!

Look at those eyes!

"Choo choo" (check out video below)

The Gs

G2 wanted to hold G4

The video: some of the Gs saying "All aboard" and then G3 and G2 saying "Choo, choo." G3 got more into it. You can't hear them too well because of the guy talking but it's still fun to watch them.

Gretchyn

G3 has really been giving me (well actually G4) a hard time lately.

She has been hitting and pushing G4. Yesterday G3 bit G4.

I wanted to do a nice post about G3 so as not to be so frustrated with her.

G3 is my little buddy. She loves to help me out. We go for walks around the house; she will just walk up to me, grab my hand and take me for a walk.

Despite her aggressive behavior toward G4 I can always count on her to keep G4 entertained when I need that to happen.

She is willing to try any food and for the most part loves all foods.

G3 loves to cuddle, not only with me and Matt but with her siblings too.

Lately when she does something wrong (like biting G4 yesterday) G3 will come and tell on herself.

She is a joke-ster. Since trying to teach them Knock, knock jokes she has been constantly telling them. G3 loves to play games and is a pretty good sport when things don't go her way.

I can normally reason with her. No matter the situation, if I talk to her about it she will be pretty okay with whatever happens--most of the time.

G3 is just a fun girl. She is a pleasure to have around. I love her so much and I feel very blessed that I was chosen to be her mother.

*********

A little bit ago (right after I started this post) G3 pulled a headboard, that is sitting in our foyer waiting to be put in a correct location, down on herself. It really scared me (and her and G2 and G4). She seems to be okay now. She is holding an ice pack on her owies (well actually on her tongue right now). She has a bruise across her face and her eye brow is a little swollen. Other than that everything seems fine. I will be keeping an eye on her just to be sure.

We got really lucky that it wasn't any worse than it is. I think I will go love on her for a bit.

Answer

Knock, knock

I've been trying to teach The Boy some Knock, Knock jokes.

He doesn't quite get it.

G3 is trying to learn them too.

Here is G1's Knock, knock joke:

G1: Knock, knock

Me: Who's there?

G1: Gavyn

Me: Gavyn who?

G1: Gavyn's home! Hahahaha.

Here's G3's Knock, knock joke:

G3: Knock, knock (while knocking on my chest)

Me: Who's there?

G3: Bananas

Me: Bananas who?

G3: No, bananas come in!
