Before having children I would only buy name brand groceries. Even after having G1 I bought pretty much only name brand.
Then I got pregnant with G2 and G3 and money was really tight and we needed food. So, we started shopping Aldi a little bit and buying more store brand groceries.
Some things I prefer store brand actually (I think store brand pineapple-chunks, crushed, slices-taste better than Dole), and there are some things I prefer name brand. But most of the time I will buy whatever costs less regardless of which I really do prefer.
The exception to this is flour. I have only ever gotten store brand flour once or twice. I can't bring myself to buy it. I really do prefer Gold Medal flours over any of them. I'm not sure why, that's just the way it is. I always have 3-4 kinds of flour in the house and all of them are Gold Medal brand.
Are there any foods that you will only buy in a specific brand? Or am I the only crazy one?
You are definitely not the only crazy one.
ReplyDeleteThere are certainly things we only will buy the one brand, though you will have to let mee get back to you on which items they are.
I have several things that I only like to buy name brand, Dawn dishwashing detergent, Oscar Meyer beef bologna, Ragu spaghetti sausce, some soups I like name brand and some I prefer store brand. There are others, but that's all I can think of for now. Flour I don't really have a preference.
ReplyDeleteCrisco. The others always seem to have an odd flavor to them.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rick.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could contact the Gold Medal people and offer your endorsement as an ad. Maybe they would $ee the $ense of it.
