I was at the store with all 3 kids Monday evening. We got to the check out and the cashier noticed I had a double stroller. She asks "Twins?" Well, at this point I am already annoyed from being stopped a million times in the 10 minutes I was in the store and G1 was being a well, 2-year old. So, I wasn't the most polite when I answered "Yes." Then she asked "Both girls." DUH! Don't you see all the pink??!? "Yes", I replied. Then she says to G1 "I feel sorry for you." I said "Don't." She says "Oh, is he deserving of it?" I was thinking "What the heck is wrong with you!?!?" I simpled replied "No, twins are a blessing. He is very blessed." She says "Oh, well I was a terror for my brother." I said, "Well, the girls aren't you. They all love each other very much. So, don't feel sorry for him, he is happy." Then she just stammered trying to come up with something to say and finally hurried to get my 5-6 items rang up.
I was so annoyed leaving the store. I just could not believe anyone would say something like that to a 2 year old. I've had an older woman tell me and Matt that she felt sorry for us and I though that was bad enough, but to say it to a 2 year old!! You've got to be kidding me!
In the words of Stephanie Tanner, "How rude!!!" People like that drive me nuts.
ReplyDeleteOh man!!! I CAN'T believe what some people will say! And yeah, especially to a little boy??? Great response, but how annoying that someone actually deserved to hear that!
