Photo a day: Day 2

This morning putting the Gs in the van I noticed that there was a leaf print in the new sidewalk that was just poured this summer. I'm surprised I had never noticed before. We are always dropping things right there.

We've come to an end

After 2 years, 4 months, 1 week, and 3 days G4 will no longer be nursing. I nursed her one last time this evening before bed. Before I told her that this would be the last time. She was goofy the entire time. Afterwards she said "No more nursey-nurse." I told that was right. I am sure she will fight me on this for a few days, but it is time.

My first goal with her was to make it to a year. When a year got here I changed the goal to 18 months. That came and went. Then the goal was 2 years. When she turned 2 we were going to be done, but neither her or I was ready. So for the last 4+ months we have gradually been working on weaning.

I am a little sad, but I am completely ready to be done. I am ready to have my body back to myself after sharing it with at least one child pretty much constantly for the last almost 6 years.

It is hard to believe that we no longer have a child in the "baby stage" anymore. I am looking forward to the next stages of life, but I am still very sad.

Photo a day: Day 1

We were invited to join a couple friends at the park this afternoon. G3 and G2 got up on a climbing thing and so I took a picture looking up at them. Enjoy!

Photo a day for a year

I'm going to try it, starting tomorrow. I may not get them posted everyday, but if not I will catch up every few days. Wish me luck! (And keep on me if I slack too much!)

G1

I can't watch the videos on the laptop before uploading them to make sure I am clicking on the correct one. So after uploading and then deleting a couple I decided this is the best you are going to get for now. He did better in other videos. My eyes hurt too much to continue searching for them though.

He came home from school one day and said he was ready for us to take his training wheels off. We have only been out twice since then, but he is doing great. I will try to get a good video of him riding uploaded soon.

Gs hanging in a tree

The martial arts school that the boys take classes at had a family picnic a week or so ago. There was a tree there that the Gs loved playing on. The tree had a little part that stuck out a bit. Matt put them the Gs up on it and took their pictures. We had a lot of fun at the picnic. I will try (no promises) to get more pictures up from there.

Go me!

Coats, shoes, bags, boots... they all drive me crazy! I have been trying to figure out how to get some control over these things. So I hung up some hooks (2 per child) for coats and bags. On the floor I put down a yoga mat and then a bucket per child to put their shoes/boots in. We still struggle some, but it seems to be helping quite a bit. I decided I wanted to personalize it a little more, so I painted some plaques and put the Gs' names on them. Although they are not perfect, I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.
